Filipinos especially need to be aware and be on the alert!
Illegal working visas are being distributed for travel to Australia.
To receive a visa to work in Australia, quite commonly given to Filipino workers is the “TSS Visa”.
People are unfortunately “cashing in” on Filipinos who are responding to job advertisements, victimizing people with dreams.
Working Visa’s must be given to the company and the person traveling to Australia.
Usually this visa allows them to stay between a period of 6 months to 4 years.
Do not be lied to! You do not have permanent or migration status with this visa!
Scenarios to be aware of;
* You are offered long time work, but not granted a visa.
* You are offered a tourist visa, with the promise of being able to change your visa status ie… permanent visa.
* You are asked to pay for your own airfares and/or fees, this is the company hiring’s responsibility.
The Australian Government can only give the stamp of approval, allowing hiring of overseas applicants.
Companies can hire directly or go through POEA, “Philippine Overseas Employment Administration”.
The POEA is a government agency mainly looking after the countries overseas workers.
Monitoring, promoting and optimizing all benefits.
In a country as large and vast as your wildest dreams….yes, there is a skills shortage.
Workers are needed, and the Philippines is the perfect country ready and eager, awaiting to offer such skills.
Illegal companies hiring and illegal foreign workers are warned…
If you are caught:
- Penalties will be paid,
- You will be deported,
- You will be black listed and
- Never, allowed back into the country.
So watch out for the signs, and don’t allow illegal recruiters to take advantage of you!!!
