A VICTORY FOR GREEKS AND AUSTRALIANS!
Some time ago a Work and Holiday visa arrangement was signed between the two countries.
This is evidence that Greeks and Australians are closer than ever. Each year the two countries will each grant 500 visas to young people to holiday and do some work in each other’s countries.
Applicants will need to fulfill some basic requirement and they are:
- have support of their government;
- hold or be studying towards tertiary qualifications; and
- be able to speak functional English.
About the Australian Work & Travel Program
It’s an excellent program that will encourage cultural exchange between Australia and Greece. With this program you can work and travel in Australia for a year.
The young people apply for this Australian Work & Travel program mainly get this visa and have an extended holiday. As they can work, they can afford to stay a bit longer that usual. Work & Travel holders are not limited to any specific type of work.
The only limitation is that they can not work for an employer more than 6 months. The work can be full-time, part-time or casual.
In some cases holders of this visa decide to study for up to 4 months and the reason that do not apply for the student visa instead, is that with the Australian Work & Travel visa there are no hourly work restrictions.
