The Magical Cairns of Australia

Cairns is a beautiful place to visit when you are in Australia and it is from here that you can easily access The Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest and Port Douglas. With so many things to do while you are in Cairns, you need to make sure you have more than a few days to get the most out of your visit.

Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is an iconic Australian landmark and is well known around the world as one of the seven wonders. Located almost parallel to the Queensland coast it is a marine park that stretches over 3000km. Did you know that the Great Barrier Reef is the only living thing visible from space?

There are a number of ways to visit the reef that will enhance your experience whilst in Cairns. With many boat tours and activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling, you will be in the water and viewing all of the beauty the reef has to offer first hand. If getting into some scuba gear and getting wet isn’t really your thing, there are also glass bottom boats that will enable you to still see the beauty under the water. It is possible to view the reef from the air, or sail around the reef by joining a travelling yacht crew! How exciting would that be?

Fitzroy Island and the Ocean Trampoline

For a day trip from Cairns, you can find yourself on Fitzroy Island in about 45 minutes if you take the high-speed ferry. Fitzroy Island is a nature wonderland in itself if you like hiking trails, snorkeling, and sea kayaking. It is also the place to go if you like the idea of jumping in the ocean on a massive trampoline! This could definitely be a relaxing day if you wish, or one that is packed with adventure and getting into the spirit of things.

There are numerous packages to choose from when you are staying in Cairns and wish to visit surrounding areas such as Fitzroy Island. Packages may include ferry transfers and some of the activities that you might like to participate in.
